UE4 Progress and LD40

I’ve been working in Unreal Engine 4 for about 4 months now and I’ve started to get the hang of things. Progress on my Action RPG is coming along very nicely if not slowly at times. I’m really happy with a number of the systems I’ve built, my inventory system and my character controller in particular. The game has started to become a sort of fusion between Dark Souls and Sacred 2. I’m obviously overscoped at this point but its more of exploration project than something I expect to finish any time soon. That being said I do plan to take things as far as I can go and I’ll probably start looking into finding some artsy types to collaborate. I want to start showing off some of my work on the site once I get the game looking a little more presentable.

Another thing, LD40 is coming up in a few weeks and my current plan is to participate in the Jam event with my brother and a few friends. Even though I’ve started to become accustomed to UE4 myself, I think I can develop faster in Unity. I imagine the rest of the team will prefer it anyways. I’m hoping to take things in a very different direction this time around.
